Ready to Wear

Fashion has been a long time passion for owner, Michelle Solarino of Gloss Boutique.

Giving up an early ‘safe’ career in the backhouse of Myer to pursue her dream, Michelle opened her first fashion boutique in Church Street, Brighton over 17 years ago. “My life took a real change in direction after assisting my dad through cancer. I realised how short life was and the need to follow your dreams.”

Needing a change in both course and location, Michelle brought Gloss to Port’s Bay Street nine years ago. Located near the corner of Liardet Street, her friendly little boutique attracts a band of loyal followers who come for her unique, emerging fashion labels and exceptional service. “You won’t get a sales approach to fashion here. We want you to leave feeling fantastic. Not railroaded into a purchase you didn’t want or need.”

Designed in Australia, Gloss’ brands give customers the confidence that their look will not be repeated on every street corner. “We understand that in today’s market, women want unique designer looks, without the designer price tag. Our pieces are released in small numbers, so the chances of spotting your outfit at an event are very small.”With her on-trend collection taking women from smart casual day looks, to after-five evening wear, Michelle’s range is carefully curated for women of all ages. “Our customer base in Port Melbourne is so diverse, we have ladies that just love our accessory collection and girls who regularly pop in to review what’s new.”

With a gorgeous collection of statement jewellery in silver and this season’s hottest rose gold tones, Michelle and her team are able to create a complete look for any occasion. “We offer a full, complimentary styling service. So if you lack confidence in what colours, silhouettes and fabrics work best for your body, come in, we would love to help you discover your personal style.”

And with the racing season fast approaching, now is the time to start considering your raceday outfit. Michelle’s racewear is currently hitting the racks with mid length dresses in classic black and white, large scale florals and pastels. “This year’s raceday looks are very feminine, with lots of lace, texture and class.”

With a full range of raceday accessories, headwear and clutches, Michelle is happy to assist women with a complete head-to-toe racing look. See Gloss’ full racewear collection in store at the end of September or on facebook at facebook.com/boutiquegloss
